Los suplementos pueden incluir otros ingredientes como az\u00facares a\u00f1adidos, saborizantes artificiales, espesantes, vitaminas y minerales. La cantidad de prote\u00edna por cucharada puede variar de 10 a 30 gramos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El riesgo de los ingredientes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No hay forma de saber si una prote\u00edna en polvo contiene lo que afirman los fabricantes. Al ser un suplemento diet\u00e9tico, la FDA deja que los fabricantes eval\u00faen la seguridad y el etiquetado de los productos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Malestar digestivo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Los suplementos de prote\u00ednas pueden causar malestar digestivo. Las personas con alergias a los productos l\u00e1cteos o problemas para digerir la lactosa, pueden experimentar molestias gastrointestinales si usan una prote\u00edna en polvo a base de leche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aumento de peso <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La f\u00f3rmula del suplemento puede tener un alto contenido de az\u00facares a\u00f1adidos y calor\u00edas.  El riesgo: aumento de peso y un pico poco saludable de az\u00facar en la sangre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Diabetes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La American Heart Association recomienda un l\u00edmite de 24 gramos de az\u00facar a\u00f1adida por d\u00eda para las mujeres y 36 gramos para los hombres. Algunas prote\u00ednas en polvo convierten un vaso de leche en una bebida con m\u00e1s de 1200 calor\u00edas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">C\u00e1ncer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigadores encontraron que muchas prote\u00ednas en polvo conten\u00edan metales pesados \u200b\u200b(plomo, ars\u00e9nico, cadmio y mercurio), bisfenol-A (BPA, que se usa para fabricar pl\u00e1stico), pesticidas y otros contaminantes relacionados al c\u00e1ncer y otras condiciones de salud. <br><br>Algunas toxinas estaban presentes en cantidades significativas. Por ejemplo, una prote\u00edna en polvo conten\u00eda 25 veces el l\u00edmite permitido de BPA. Despu\u00e9s de todo, la prote\u00edna es esencial para desarrollar y mantener los m\u00fasculos, la fortaleza de los huesos y numerosas funciones corporales.
